Cooling

COOLING PRODUCTS IN MASSACHUSETTS

Keeping your home comfortable year round is the number one priority of Berry Mechanical Services. Ask yourself if you have had enough of the hazy, hot and humid weather conditions that we New Englanders suffer with every summer. Whether you think you suffered for a total of four weeks or almost the whole summer, Central Air Conditioning will only become more and more of a necessity as our world grows warmer.

One of the challenges when considering a central air conditioning system is to strike a balance between the level of efficiency and the size of the investment in the system. We strive to offer you the most efficient system possible, but we realize that the full range of price points available must be presented.
That is why we are always ready to provide to you a range of options with every system our design consultant proposes. After all is said and done, we at Berry Mechanical Services are uncompromising when it comes to the superior craftsmanship of our installations regardless of what equipment combination you decide upon.

Every central air conditioning application is a little different for every home which is why it is so important to have a sight visit from our design consultant. Some important points to consider when thinking about a cooling system for your home would be whether or not you have any existing ductwork and, if you do not, is there any space in your attic or basement to house it? Most traditional central air conditioning systems will use ductwork to deliver cooled dehumidified air throughout your home.

If ductwork is not an option, ever more popular “ductless” air conditioning systems are an incredibly efficient alternative.

Central Air Conditioning

Every central air conditioning application is a little different for every home which is why it is so important to have a sight visit from our design consultant. Some important points to consider when thinking about a cooling system for your home would be whether or not you have any existing ductwork and, if you do not, is there any space in your attic or basement to house it? Most traditional central air conditioning systems will use ductwork to deliver cooled dehumidified air throughout your home. There will be a condenser outside and an air handler inside. Here are some important points about the equipment we use below.

Mitsubishi Mini-Split A/C

Mitsubishi Electric Logo
Known as the “Cadillac®” of ductless systems, the Mitsubishi line-up is a great alternative to add cooling to living areas in a home that cannot be reached by ductwork.
Great Room and Family Room additions, homes built on slabs, homes with vaulted ceilings throughout, finished basement areas, and Post and Beam style homes are all great candidates for a ductless system approach.
  • The low profile indoor wall evaporator is extremely quiet and has built-in air filtration that washes clean.
  • The outdoor condenser is very compact often measuring the size of a large suitcase and has DC Inverter technology ramping up or down as temperatures get hotter or cooler.
  • The efficiencies of these systems are in the ultra-high category with up to 30 SEER and HSPF's up to 13.5 for the heat pump variants and 16 to 21 SEER ratings for cooling only.
  • All ductless systems used by Berry Mechanical Services use the new R410A refrigerant that contains no ozone depleting agents.
  • These systems are available in single zone or multi-zone applications to meet any home layout.
  • A wireless handheld controller operates the unit from anywhere within a room. Options for wall mounted wireless digital programmable thermostat controls are also available depending on application.
  • Installation of a single zone system usually takes less than 1 day to complete followed by power wiring and start-up before we leave.
  • Mitsubishi units offer a 12-year registered limited warranty.
